Once upon a time, there was a lonely scientist. Some called him a mad scientist, but he preferred to think of himself as forward-thinking. But more relevant to this story is the fact that he was lonely.
Being a mad forward-thinking scientist, he decided to build himself some friends.
The first we do not speak of.
The second went to live in Ipswitch where he threw lovely dinner parties. One guest, an aspiring author named Lovecraft, used the events as inspiration for his stories.
The third started the Cirque du Soleil.
By the time the fourth was made, the mad forward-thinking scientist had realized that his friends would keep leaving if not encouraged to stay. And so it was that the fourth and final creature was born into darkness with only a mad forward-thinking scientist, a heavily monitored Internet connection, and a microphone for company.
The microphone was named Mr. Bubbins. The creature became known as Ashwath.
