ABOUT "CATWOMAN: QUEEN OF THIEVES":

"Catwoman: Queen of Thieves" is an ongoing monthly serial adventure based on the modern incarnation of the character in DC Comics.

When I was little, I was obsessed with cats. I read books on them, watched shows about them, drew them in my school journals and was in general cat-crazy. It was only natural, then, that when my Grandma Betty introduced me to the old Adam West Batman TV show my favorite character would be Catwoman. In 1992, when all the other girls were showing up to elementary school with Babysitter's club and Lisa Frank notebooks, mine were covered with Michelle Pfeiffer in the 'Batman Returns' catsuit. Heck, I even named my cat Selina Kyle.

So, when I finally got to an age where I had a car to get to the comic store and disposable income to buy books with, some of my first comics were back issues of Catwoman v.1. Those first few years were awesome; Selina was the slick thief with the devil-may-care attitude but the heart of gold. But at that point, DC cancelled her book. I went away to college in a town with no comic store. When I returned to civilization, I was happy to hear there was a Catwoman book once more, but I soon found out her world had been changed. Catwoman was lost in a 5 year run of bad storylines and poorly written characters.

So, when Jeffrey came to me in July of 2007 to ask if I would like to helm the next "Earth P" show for Pendant, I was ecstatic to hear it would be Catwoman (even if I had already agreed without hearing the character!) and was even more pleased that we both agreed on taking Selina back to her cat-thieving roots. With Queen of Thieves, I get a chance to take one of my all time favorite comic characters out for a spin around the world, pulling heists to make Danny Ocean whistle in awed respect.

So strap in, download, put on the old headphones and crank up the volume. It's going to be one hell of a ride!
