ABOUT
"INDIANA JONES AND THE WELL OF LIFE":
"Indiana
Jones and the Well of Life" is a feature-length adventure based
on the Indiana Jones film franchise.
I've always
been a huge fan of radio dramas and quickly jumped at the chance
to actually participate in one when i first heard about Pendant
Productions. They were recording a indyerman radio drama and I had
missed out on the initial auditions but was liking what I heard
in each episode. Eventually I went on to audition and capture a
few roles in some of their other productions.
Jeffrey Bridges
had spoken about an Indiana Jones drama and that it was tied into
the James Bond drama, of which I have a rather small part in as
well. He really wanted to get it into production but just did not
have the time to mix it all together. So over the next few months,
Jeffrey hounded me and sent flowers and candygrams and all manner
of bribes (including a very attractive offer concerning his wife!)
in an attempt to woo me over to the mixing table (he's kidding,
folks! -- Jeffrey). Finally, I decided I'd throw the ol' boy
a bone. Actually, being an avid video editor and having some audio
mixing experience myself, I offered to try it out and see if I had
what it takes to be a mixer. So far, so good!
Not this qualifies
me as anything special, but as kids, I remember my friends and I
would go off in the woods in search of adventure. There was the
time we found an old abandoned treehouse, with a cross stuck in
the ground nearby. Upon returning to the site weeks later, the cross
had been removed and we found it on a hillside not too far off.
Our imagination went wild as we pictured various Indiana Jones type
reasons for the movement of the cross. Or there was the time we
were chased by some older bullies through a dried up sewer tunnel
(gross yes, but fun!). We ran through total darkness, not knowing
what was at the other end but hoping for the best and looking back
now, it felt totally like an Indy moment. Ah, the memories of youth!
I am eagerly
anticipating working on this project. I've always been a fan of
Indiana Jones movies, and also to some extent, The Young Indiana
Jones Chronicles. Being that we are going for an authentic feel
and trying to cast close to the original actors' voices, it's almost
as if I am going to be working with Ford, Connery and Allen themselves!
Stay tuned!
Tom Stitzer
Director, "Indiana Jones and the Well of Life"
---
"Indiana
Jones. I always knew some day you'd come walking back through my
door. I never doubted that. Something made it inevitable."
This
project was originally slated to run a long time ago, in conjunction
with or perhaps shortly after the "James Bond: To The End"
debut.
"Indiana
Jones and the Well of Life" was conceived along with "James
Bond: To The End" as two bookends to a story. Each can stand
on their own as complete tales, but when the two of them are combined
they make something greater than the sum of their parts.
As
for what happened in the time between the "bookends"?
Well... that remains to be seen.
Pendant
grew far more rapidly than I'd anticipated and, unfortunately, I
never had the time to get around to directing the show myself. And
so it was put on hold indefinitely until such a time as I would
be able to devote the time and care that the show deserves.
Sadly,
I still don't have the time to direct it, which is where Mr. Tom
Stitzer comes in. It's through his commitment to direct this project
that it presently exists at all. Thanks, Tom!
Indy,
to me, has always been about grand adventure, exotic locales, and
an incredibly intelligent ruffian who, despite his best efforts,
is usually on the losing end of a fight. He gets banged up and kicked
around, much to our amusement, but he never, ever gives up, much
to our satisfaction.
He's
the ultimate adventurer. He's a scruffy everyman with no need for
posturing or pretense. He is what he is and you can take it or leave
it, and he'll be just fine either way.
You
can think of this production in much the same way, although we'd
really much prefer that you enjoy it rather than come at us wildy
waving swords. After all, we wouldn't want to have to shoot you.
